Rolo Pretzels Ingredients

To make Rolo pretzels make sure you have square pretzels, Rolo candies and M&M’s. See the recipe card below for amounts and details.

  • Rolo Candy: Rolo candy is a classic chewy caramel candy coated in milk chocolate. You should be able to find tubes or bags of Rolo candies at your local grocery store.
  • M&M’s Candy: I use green and red colored M&M’s for Christmas. You can use your favorite colors of M&M’s or choose colors that fit different holidays. You could use orange and black M&M’s for Halloween or pink and red M&M’s for Valentines Day.
  • Pretzels : Square pretzels work great for this recipe. However, if you can’t find square pretzels, you can make this treat with small pretzel twists.

How Do You Make Rolo Pretzels?

This recipe couldn’t be any easier. To make these Rolo pretzel bites first preheat your oven. Then line a sheet pan or baking sheet with parchment paper. Set the pretzels on the paper. Place an unwrapped Rolo on the center of each pretzel. Place the sheet pan in a preheated oven until the candies just soften. Take the cookie sheet out and press M&M’s chocolate candies into each of the caramel candies. Let the pretzels sit until the chocolate firms up. Serve and enjoy!

Tips For The Perfect Rolo Pretzels

  • One way you can tell when the Rolos soften is that they start to look shiny .
  • When placing your M&M’s into the Rolos, place each one in the center of the divot in the Rolo candies.
  • I like to place pretzels on my sheet pan so I can count how many Rolos I need. Then I unwrap the foil around the Rolo candies until I have the right amount of unwrapped Rolo candies.
  • I typically make these candies around the holidays, which is why I’m using red and green M&M’s . You can use any other color M&M that you like.
  • I love to package up these treats in tins and give them as holiday gifts for family, friends and teachers.
  • Kids love these treats because they can make them with a little adult help and they can show off their handiwork.

Quick Tip

Make sure not to let the Rolos melt in the oven . You just want them to soften.

You can store Rolo pretzels in an airtight container up to 6 days.

You can freeze these pretzels bites and they will last in the freezer up to 2 months. However, you will want to thaw them before eating them as the frozen caramel in the candies can get quite firm.

Flavor Variations

There are so many different variations on these pretzel bites. Here are some of my favorites

  • Hershey Kiss: Swap out the Rolo for a Hershey’s Kiss.
  • Turtles: Use pecan halves instead of the M&M’s to make Rolo pretzel turtles.
  • Peanut Butter Bites: Use Reese’s Pieces instead of M&M’s. You could also replace the Rolo candies with Reese’s miniature cups.
  • Sprinkles: Gently press sprinkles into the warm Rolos.
  • White Chocolate: Feel free to drizzle melted white chocolate over your Rolo pretzels.

There’s just something special about the taste of a sweet and salty treat. These pretzels have it all. Between the chocolate, crispy pretzels and gooey caramel, this is a treat that no one will be able to resist.
